Can you use frozen peaches?

Yes, use frozen peaches to make the smoothie or fresh peaches to make a peach smoothie with yogurt and enjoy a different taste.

The smoothie should always be tried with different fruits, and here we are with another exciting smoothie recipe using fruit other than bananas or strawberries.

Frozen peaches are always handy, fresh in the freezer, and ready to use without losing their nutrients.

Fresh peaches are also a perfect choice to add to smoothies. Still, they ripen quickly at room temperature, and the longer they are left at room temperature after ripening, they lose their vitamins, mainly Vitamin C.

Therefore, if you have a ripe peach, use them quickly in your recipes, such as quick smoothies or make juice or store them immediately in the fridge.

They may last only a short time in the fridge, too; therefore, use frozen peaches, which are always available, or one can also use fresh peaches to make the peach yogurt smoothie.

Can I use peach greek yogurt?

Flavored yogurt always comes with added sugar; always watch for the brand and check the sugar while buying flavored greek yogurt.

I prefer to share healthy ways of making smoothies, and if you like to have a smoothie with increased calories, you can replace low-calorie ingredients with high-calorie ones.

Variations

Fruits: You can make the smoothie with one fruit which is peach, but you can always add other fruits, such as mango chunks, banana slices or strawberries, etc.

Yogurt: Use greek yogurt without flavors, and if you like to opt for flavored yogurt, go ahead but look for the sugars and calories.

You can also add low-fat yogurt, but greek yogurt is highly suggested to make a protein-rich smoothie.

Almond milk: Using non-dairy milk is a healthy option but if you prefer to make it with just yogurt, skip adding milk.

Honey: Sweeteners, natural or added, can increase some calories, but peach can be difficult to consume if you do not like the fruit.

In such cases, adding maple syrup or honey can be a great choice and keep the calories low.

If you are unwilling to add any sweetener, add vanilla extract to help with easy consumption and add a good fragrance and subtle taste to the peach smoothie.

Chia seeds: These seeds are full of fiber, and adding chia seeds to any smoothie makes the smoothie a filling drink, helps with slow digestion, and prevents building appetite.

What fruits blend well with peaches?

Many fruits, such as bananas, strawberries, or other berries, such as blueberries or red, pair well with peaches.

Apart from these fruits, mangoes and bananas make a great pairing.

To make a smoothie creamy and delicious, dairy-based greek yogurt or non-dairy-based yogurt or milk can make the smoothie creamy and help with easy consumption.

Ingredients

The recipe uses ripe frozen peaches, but you can always use fresh ones to make a smoothie. Use what is easily or readily available in your kitchen.

It also uses greek yogurt, a honey sweetener, and additional ingredients to make it a fiber-rich smoothie, with chia seeds and one frozen fruit(mangoes or bananas).

The optional ingredients to use in the recipe are almond milk and protein powder which can be added based on availability.

Adding almond milk in unsweetened helps add protein and also reduces the calories in the smoothie, and protein powder works on providing protein but is optional.

Add the milk and protein powder makes the smoothie a perfect breakfast or meal smoothie to replace meals and to have a healthy weight management diet.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup greek yogurt (or peach greek yogurt)
  • 1 large peach, ripe (pitted)
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • ¼ cup almond milk (optional)
  • 1 scoop vanilla-based protein powder (optional)
  • ¼ cup frozen mangoes/ frozen bananas (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Add a cup of greek yogurt to a blending jar.
  • Add ripe pitted peach to the yogurt.
  • Add honey and chia seeds.
  • Add frozen mango or frozen banana to the above ingredients.
  • Add almond milk if you like a thin consistency, but it is optional.
  • Add protein powder, frozen mangoes, or frozen fruit as optional ingredients.

Notes

  • The calories mentioned include vanilla protein powder and bananas. If these ingredients are skipped, the calories are close to 300.
