Starbucks iced caramel macchiato, an instant coffee drink that is sweet, cool, has a chilling effect and best drink for the scorching summers. It contains simple ingredients and syrups that give a sweet creamy flavour to the macchiato recipe. It is one of my favourite drinks so far that I made.

About the recipe
I am trying to make some of the best restaurant-style American recipes which are easy, simple, do not a long time and taste pretty good as well. Among all the recipes I chose to make some drinks recipes along with some other non-vegetarian restaurant-style recipes.
This is a highly popular recipe drink on their menu and after researching about it I wanted to try a similar copycat version of the macchiato which has caramel flavours to it.
The caramel flavor gives a sweet taste to the drink and when combined with brewed espresso, it is the best drink to have during the heat waves which has some amazing pleasant coffee and caramel flavors.
The drink contains simple ingredients such as syrup, milk, ice, caramel flavour, brewed espresso and makes one quick Starbucks iced caramel macchiato, a copycat version of one of the popular drinks preferred.
Below I will be sharing the ingredients required to make the Starbucks iced caramel macchiato and also the recipe details to make it.
If all the ingredients are handy it is easy to make restaurant-style recipes at home as many times as possible at home.

Ingredients
Vanilla syrup: This is a sweet flavoured syrup commonly used in Starbucks flavored drinks which gives a vanilla aroma to the caramel macchiato and has a heavenly effect on the drink.
The syrup is easily available in stores and is readily available in a bottle and can be added to many other coffee drinks without the need to add sugars or other substances.
It is white transparent in colour and there are several brands that sell this syrup. No need to make it from scratch at home as it is available at a less price.
Milk: This is an essential ingredient to the macchiato. I am using pasteurized cold milk and no need to boil as pasteurized milk is ready to drink milk without the need to boil and chill it.
If the milk used at home is not pasteurized then bring a boil to the milk, allow it to cool down in the refrigerator before using it for the drink.
Ice cubes: Since this is a cold form of the drink, ice cubes are essential to give a chilling feel while drinking.
Crushing and adding ice cubes is preferable or just add directly if the crushing option is not available.
Brewed Espresso: Espresso can be brewed out of coffee beans using an espresso machine. If not, simply brew instant coffee in water for few minutes by steeping for as long as one prefers.
If making at home and no machine is available then brew espresso overnight in water or instant brew espresso by boiling water and instant coffee and then use it in the drink.
If making homemade versions any option can be followed to brew the espresso.

Caramel Sauce: Since this is an iced caramel macchiato, adding caramel sauce is an important ingredient and the recipe is incomplete without it.
There are some popular brands that sell the sauce and is easily available in stores which can then be used for various frappuccino recipes, macchiato recipes etc...
Step by step procedure
- Take a glass or a coffee mug or a cup of the desired choice and add 2 tablespoon vanilla syrup at the base or 2 pumps of vanilla syrup.
- Add half a cup of cold milk to the glass.
- Add some ice cubes by crushing or adding as a whole.
- Add brewed espresso over the milk.
- Lastly, drizzle caramel sauce all over the espresso generously or as per sweetness preferred.
- Stir and serve or serve directly as given in the restaurants.
- Can add desired toppings of whipped cream or leave it as it is already flavorful.
Variations
In case caramel sauce is not available add caramel syrup and the ratio of milk and espresso can be used as per choice.
Some add equal proportions of milk and brewed espresso but some add more milk and less espresso and vice-versa.
It is all how we can modify as per one's preferences of taste. If a strong coffee flavor is flavored add more brewed espresso to the milk.
Lastly, this drink should have caramel flavours and it is a bit sweet in taste. Therefore, adding as per sweetness required is what I suggest as it can get too sweet and not easy to drink when it turns sweeter.

Do we mix or stir the layers of the drink?
No, the drink is not mixed and is consumed without stirring and served without mixing. If needed stir it but the main purpose of this drink is not to mix and enjoy each flavour directly

Starbucks iced caramel macchiato
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoon vanilla syrup (or 2 pumps)
- ½ cup milk
- ice cubes (crushed or whole)
- 1 shot brewed espresso
- 2-3 tablespoon caramel sauce
Instructions
- Take a glass or a coffee mug or a cup of desired choice.

I am trying to bring out ingredients used in the restaurant-style recipes and it takes lots of effort to know about each drink, make it and share it with the viewers as this is a tried and tested recipe and would like to share many more as I keep updating.
There are certain tips that can be used while making this drink. In other countries, it can be difficult to find brewed espresso but it is easily available in American countries, can be made or bought directly.
It is not the same in countries outside America. It is sometimes difficult to have brewed form of espresso. In such cases, just brew some instant coffee powder for a while and let it sit for a while until it turns lukewarm or cools completely.
This brewed form can be used and added and gives perfect flavors.
Can we store the drink?
Yes, refrigerate the drink for a day or two or a few days and can drink it when required. Do not store it for many days as it is a homemade drink and has no preservatives to last longer. Try to make it fresh and drink fresh without storing it.
